• Biography

     Laurie is a writer of historical fiction and non-fiction and is particularly interested in nineteenth-century Canadian history and the lives of girls and women during that period.

    She lives in River Hebert, Nova Scotia with her husband, Barry Norris, a freelance editor, and kitty cat Dinah.

    • Haunted Girl: Esther Cox & The Great Amherst Mystery was a finalist for the 2013 Democracy 250 Atlantic Book Award for Historical Writing.  Since 2015 it has been optioned to be made into a feature film.
