In this intensive, five-hour workshop, award-winning poet George Elliott Clarke will lead participants into an artistic exploration of their own consciousnesses that will help each conjure the magic of memorable images and uncompromising words. Through study and deployment of several techniques, during the workshop, participants will write new poems in fresh ways, and also be gifted with the "tools" to carry on their artistic growth independently and lastingly. The discussions (and perhaps writings) may very well draw upon "mature subject matter," so it is not for the faint of heart. However, it is for the nervy, the hearty, the witty, the gutsy, and the soulful. No prerequisites or pre-existing pieces of writing are necessary for participation in this workshop.
