The Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia has released the list of finalists for the 36th Atlantic Writing Competition. To mark the occasion, we thought we’d share some tips for absorbing the fate of your manuscript.

Do treat yourself!  You’ve earned it.

Don’t make voodoo dolls representing your competitors. Voodoo is not a method with proven results.

Do commiserate with friends, family, and fellow writers.

Don’t commiserate with the internet.
