Our second event in the reading series we've dubbed Nova Reads is set for Monday, April 9, 7 pm at The Watch That Ends the Night, King's Wharf, Dartmouth.

The newly formed Sherbrooke Village Writers Guild has no shortage of ambition. The guild is currently organizing a Writers’ Camp this fall, to take place Thursday, September 13 to Sunday, September 16.

As its name says, this group of writers who live on Nova Scotia’s eastern shore are based at historic Sherbrooke Village, about a three-hour drive from Halifax. The guild's home base is located in Cruikshank House next to the art gallery.

Introducing "Nova Reads."

The Writers Federation of Nova Scotia is introducing a social event this winter that we're calling Nova Reads. It's envisioned as a relaxed, fun evening out during which Nova Scotia writers read from the works of Nova Scotia writers.

Tuesday, January 2, 2018 - 1:56pm

Because of occasional wild winter weather, that, the WFNS Office has put a plan in place to ensure the safety of staff. On days when the weather is questionable (sidewalks and roads unplowed, ice, heavy snow, extreme temperatures, etc.) your staff may be working from home. On those days, a notice will be posted on social media and our website. If you have an urgent query on those days, please email contact@writers.ns.ca as we won't be in the office to answer the phone.

Tuesday, October 31, 2017 - 2:32pm

The Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia has a new executive director: Marilyn Smulders. Smulders takes the reins of the organization following the departure of Jonathan Meakin, who recently moved to a position in municipal government after almost five years with the WFNS. Smulders' first day will be Tuesday, November 14th.
