Allan Lynch has been in the publishing industry since 1973. He has worked as a reporter, advertising manager, general manager, managing editor and newspaper publisher. He has written a syndicated humour column, consulted for regional newspaper chains, specialty publications and an American magazine. He has been a full-time freelance writer since 1989.
Lynch has also been a director and officer of several regional publishing companies, as well as a retail and commercial real estate company. He has served on the boards of the Atlantic Community Newspapers' Association, Periodical Writers' Association of Canada, Two Planks and A Passion Theatre and the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia. He has been a volunteer fundraiser for the theatre and a local sheltered workshop, as well as a judge for national and regional newspaper competitions.
Lynch also won various national and regional newspaper and magazine awards, including: best columnist, best advertising, best travel article, best historical travel. His first business book, Sweat Equity, was shortlisted for the 1996 Dartmouth Book Award. He has contributed to seven textbooks and written three books of his own.
Lynch is also a public speaker, represented by the Atlantic Speakers Bureau.
