"Linda Little is a natural storyteller with a gift for acute and quirky characterization. These two rare talents combine to make Scotch River a highly unusual and absorbing novel about lost souls in pursuit of the meaning of family." Winner
of the 2007 Thomas Head Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award.
"The novel's characters speak in the rough back-country cadences of the Maritimes, and are toughened by the no-work, no-money, no-advantages limitations of rural Maritime life. ... in Little's care they transcend stereotypes even as they seem to embody them. ... she will indeed be a writer to watch." - Stephanie Domet, Quill & Quire.
